–For Immediate Release–

AppSumo is excited to announce that it has closed an angel round of funding from a Top Angel. The Austin based startup has seen bullish growth over the last fiscal year, acquiring nearly 100,000 customers and achieving sub 5000 US Alexa rank. Today the company is excited to announce a staggering investment of $20.47 from Chief Sumo Noah Kagan’s mom Debra.

Angel making big deals!

Chief Sumo was quoted as saying,

“This money is a real windfall for the organization. We plan on making stategic investments in shrimp tacos at Maria’s Taco Express, and divesting in Diet Sprites for two lucky members of the team.”

Other plans with the capital include eliminating company debt by repaying Eric for that money he loaned Noah to buy 1 Justin Bieber ticket.

Burke, who goes by “Angel Cakes” on Friendster, secured a majority stake of AppSumo through her investment. She beat out many top angels like @DaveMcClure, @Naval, @yegg, @JoshuaBaer and @jason.

@DaveMcClure was reportedly furious screaming, “Have you Seen the AppSumo homepage?!? This was f*cking #500 :(The Angel was heard saying, “повтора вы теряете.”

The investment was made through the purchase of a competitive daily deal featured on, which has actually promoted other successful companies like LinkedIn, Heroku, Evernote and more.

Debra “Angel Cakes”, tweeted from her Palm Pilot during the commercial break of Days of our Lives – “Id B a fool not 2 put money in @appsumo b4 valuations get out of control–Bsides Noah can use the money 4 fresh undies #tigerblood.”

Unfortunately after Paypal fees and a taco dinner consumed with the Angel investor, Noah and his team are only left with $8.67 to spearhead growth in the company.

Appsumo can help you get new customers, grow your company, and give you an introduction to Angel. The future is bright.

About The AppSumo team is obsessed with burritos and ramen. They were born mostly in the 80s, enjoy watching Woody Allen movies and try not to suck at what they are doing. They got their big break when Angel Cakes decided not to charge them rent for working out of the garage.

I once read a study proving that, controlling for shrimp taco expenditure, $1 of increased mom investment (or “momvestment”) returns a $12.2 yield over a 6-year period.

    Hey Noah,

That is awesome. Gotta work our mothers in somewhere. If it wasn’t for them none of us would be doing what we love.

In reality some of our mothers have been our biggest investors through life.
