One look at Che’s portfolio and you will surely be mesmerized. His work stands as a feast for the eyes. Che is the head of Pixel Pimps and is sought after by some of the largest international brands for his design and illustrations. After a brief chat with him however, you will find that he’s very modest about his achievements. He also founded TUTCandy, a design tutorial blog, as a way to give back to the community.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Well, I get a lot of inspiration from the nature. You get it from funny places, it could be the bark of a tree, colors of a sunset, a pretty bird, anything! I also get inspired by a lot of different designs and much of my design is just a big melting pot of everything. I don’t think I can ever tie myself to one particular style. I’m shooting a circus act tomorrow, so that should be pretty cool.

You’ve designed for The Doors and Mike Tyson and many other big brands. What projects are you most proud of?
It’s a tough question to answer but I know that it’s certainly not the big name stuff. I’m very proud of the stuff I do for myself. Lately I’ve been working on some surfboard designs and I’m quite proud of them.

Word of advice for budding designers out there?
As a young designer myself I’m very lucky in that I no longer have to go looking for business. People come to me now and this certainly comes with time. I would say to really read into what clients say, figure out what people really want before diving into designing.
